Data sources & credits
Listings in DoINeedAnInsuranceBroker are compiled from the sources below. Each is named with the dataset it came from, the licence it is used under, and the credit that licence requires. Where a licence makes attribution a condition of use, that credit is reproduced here word for word.
Required attributions
- Google Maps — Google Maps Platform Terms of Service (credentialed paid API)
- Contains public sector information licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0. — Open Government Licence v3.0 (Crown copyright)
Credited as a precaution
For these sources we could not read and quote a licence — the page states none, or it refused our request. A blocked read is not proof that no credit is owed, so we credit them anyway and record the verbatim wording as still outstanding.

Florida Department of Financial Services

And: "No material from www.myfloridacfo.com ... may be copied, reproduced, republished, uploaded, posted, transmitted, or distributed in any way, except that you may download the materials for personal, educational, or training usage as described below, provided you keep intact all copyright and other proprietary notices. ... For purposes of this Agreement, the use of any such material on any other Web site or networked computer environment is prohibited." HIGH for the licence finding; NO attribution line is specified, so nothing is owed as a credit. 🔴 THIS IS A REDISTRIBUTION FINDING, NOT A CREDIT ONE, and it is adverse: 34,528 served rows on doineedaninsurancebroker. Per CLAUDE.md C2/C5 that verdict belongs to empire-legal-audit, not to this file — it is NAMED here and ruled nowhere.
Google Places — audited paid corpus (dated tags only)
Google Places API business records, insurance vertical, April 2026 audited pull
- Required credit:
Google Maps
- Last updated from source:
- 2026-04-20
Verbatim: "When displaying Places API data without a Google Map, you must include the Google logo, adhering to the provided style guidelines and attribution requirements." Google specifies the Google Maps logo, or the TEXT "Google Maps" where space is constrained. There is no "Powered by Google" string mandated for this case. Scope is the 51 dated audited tags ONLY — the bare `google_places` tag is a separate, unresearched tripwire authority.

idoi.illinois.gov carries exactly one policy link in its footer — the statewide illinois.gov privacy/disclaimer page. That page was read IN FULL (8,895 chars): zero occurrences of 'attribution', 'credit line', 'copyright', 'public domain' or 'reproduce'. It contains a liability disclaimer, a data-accuracy disclaimer and a choice-of-law clause, and no licence grant and no credit condition. Silent, not blocked.
Iowa Insurance Division
Iowa Insurance Division producer (agent/agency) licence register

iid.iowa.gov's footer points to 'accessibility, data, privacy, and other policies' at https://www.iowa.gov/policies. Read IN FULL (20,557 chars). Its 'Copyright Policy' section is a DMCA takedown-notice procedure ONLY — it grants nothing and requires nothing. Zero occurrences of 'attribution'; the two 'credit' hits are both 'credit card'. 'Additional Terms and Requirements' concerns notice/legal-service, not reuse. Silent, not blocked. (Distinct from the Iowa SECRETARY OF STATE, which is BLOCKED — see that entry.)
legacy_pre_path_y (unknown provenance)
Pre-PathY legacy rows — originating authority not recorded at load time
- Licence:
- No licence asserted — provenance not recorded
- Credited as (provenance not recorded):
- Compiled from publicly available listings (pre-2026 legacy data)
- Last updated from source:
- 2026-05-06
IRRECOVERABLE, NOT UNRESEARCHED. The originating authority was never recorded at load time, so no licence can be asserted and no credit can honestly be given. This is not closable by research; it closes by re-deriving provenance where a source identifier survives on the row, or by de-serving the remainder. In campgroundsnearme alone this is 2,840 SERVED rows.

BLOCKED -> NOT FOUND. www.tdi.texas.gov still answers /robots.txt with HTTP 500 (re-verified 2026-09-10; fail-closed, no page fetched). A PERMITTED channel was found instead: data.texas.gov robots-preflights allowed_under_*, and TDI publishes its licence rosters there. Read live today via the official Socrata metadata API https://data.texas.gov/api/views/kxv3-diwf.json (dataset 'Insurance agents, adjusters, and people approved to manage insurance-related products or claims'; sibling TDI datasets 3yqc-fcdt, kvqi-vsrr, avjc-7u2m identical in shape). The record carries NO licenceId and NO license object — the licence question is genuinely unanswered, not merely unreachable. It DOES carry a publisher-set attribution field, verbatim: "Texas Department of Insurance", with provenance "official" and custom_fields Dataset Category.Agency = "Texas Department of Insurance". dir.texas.gov's Texas Open Data Portal page was also read in full and is silent on licensing, copyright, attribution and reuse. 🔴 A Socrata `attribution` field is the publisher's own source string, NOT a licence and NOT an attribution CONDITION — grading this HIGH would be the catalogue-license_id error in a new hat. It is quotable as a plain source credit only. 🔴 CHANNEL NOT PROVEN: no loader for tag tx_tdi_2026_06_03 survives in the estate, so whether the 265,748 rows came through data.texas.gov or tdi.texas.gov is unrecorded; the authority is TDI either way, which is what the plain credit names.
UK Companies House (official open company register)
UK Companies House public register — SIC 66220 (insurance agents and brokers) companies
- Required credit:
Contains public sector information licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0.
- Last updated from source:

Companies House verbatim: "Material of this sort is subject to Crown copyright protection and is made available on GOV.UK under the Open Government Licence v3.0" and "if information is used from guidance notes, the website, publications or statistical tables the customer must credit Companies House as the source". OGL v3.0 verbatim: "acknowledge the source of the Information in your product or application by including or linking to any attribution statement specified by the Information Provider(s) and, where possible, provide a link to this licence" — and the condition is self-executing: "if you fail to comply with them the rights granted to you under this licence ... will end automatically". CH specifies no bespoke attribution statement of its own, so the OGL default line above applies (re-confirmed 2026-09-10 on the bulk-download page http://download.companieshouse.gov.uk/en_output.html, which carries NO licence statement at all). TENSION, named not resolved: the same CH page also says "Companies House imposes no rules or requirements on how the information on the public register is used." That sentence is about USE, not about the licence grant; it does not withdraw the OGL acknowledgement condition, and the safe reading (give the credit) is also the cheap one. Graded HIGH on the licence + line; the register-carve-out reading is recorded so a ruling can overturn it deliberately.
